Hi, I'm Petra and this is my weight loss/fitness blog.

I used to be on Weight Watchers from January 2011 to October 2012, dropping approximately 45 lbs. I've made the transition from unhealthy and unhappy to athlete and this is my journey to becoming a healthier, happier me. I frequently post about my exercise (mostly running, yoga and lifting), the foods I eat, recipes I liked and my daily struggles. You'll also find the occasional tree hugger post, (travel) photography or anything else I find worth remembering and collecting.

I follow most blogs back that follow me. However, I do stay away from blogs that promote EDs, unhealthy methods of weight loss or negative body image.

Feel free to say hi any time!

General stuff & Good things: 2/15 & 2/16

I went for a great run yesterday morning. I was out the door before 6 and did a little over 6.5 miles. I had gone to bed a little earlier on Tuesday night. Amazing what a little more sleep can do to you when it comes to getting up the next morning. Who would’ve thought?

I still had immense sugar cravings yesterday. I’m not sure whether that’s due to the hormones I’ve been taking or whether it’s just random. I used to have cycle-based sugar cravings before my body decided to go bonkers and I must admit that I’ve not missed them. I’ve felt incredibly huge the last two days. Like as if my belly went on forever and ever and everything I wore was all muffintop, muffintop, muffintop. Not stepping on the scale this morning was hard.

Good things 2/15:

  • My PTO for August got unofficially approved.
  • Despite a couple of bad decisions I made, eating-wise (really, a cookie and a macaroon??), yesterday wasn’t too bad. Sure, it could have been better. But given the overall tone of the day (sugar, chocolate, I want more sugar and more chocolate), it also could have been a lot worse.

Good things 2/16:

  • Had a 9:30 strategy call with my client today and it went really well. The only changes he requested were things that my supervisor instructed me to include. It’s a minor thing that’s not going to reflect badly on me, but it gives me a giant ego boost because I had argued with her over it and wanted to not include it. You know what, sup? I’ve been on this team a little longer than you have and I am a professional. Believe it or not, I got this.
  • I look cute today:

Jeans: Always Skinny Jeans (Gap), Polka dotted Top (J. Crew), Cardigan (S. Oliver), Red lipstick (Sephora) and Watch (Garmin, hah!)

Shoes (S. Oliver, really old) and Tights (Max Mara)

No idea why my face is so red though.
  • I’m going to dinner at Colicchio & Sons tonight. I’m excited!
