Hi, I'm Petra and this is my weight loss/fitness blog.
I used to be on Weight Watchers from January 2011 to October 2012, dropping approximately 45 lbs. I've made the transition from unhealthy and unhappy to athlete and this is my journey to becoming a healthier, happier me. I frequently post about my exercise (mostly running, yoga and lifting), the foods I eat, recipes I liked and my daily struggles. You'll also find the occasional tree hugger post, (travel) photography or anything else I find worth remembering and collecting.
I follow most blogs back that follow me. However, I do stay away from blogs that promote EDs, unhealthy methods of weight loss or negative body image.
Feel free to say hi any time!

My day in le forme du bullets:
Looking to take your yoga to new places? New York has you covered. These days, yoga is popping up in unusual and inspiring locales. And the best part: it’s free. Below is a sampling of classes that will change the view from your mat and give your wallet a break too.
Brooklyn Boulders Yoga for rock climbers? You bet. Brooklyn Boulders offers free yoga on the premises to everyone who takes a rock climbing class. After all, you’ve got to be limber and relaxed to scale those heights. They’ve got an incredible roster of instructors who offer a variety of classes for yoga students of all levels. Brooklyn Boulders also offers a monthly workshop entitled The Fundamentals of Yoga. At $25 dollars for a three hours of personalized instruction, this workshop is one of the best deals around. The next workshop is this Monday, June 6th from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.
New York Public Library Several branches of the New York Public Library have started offering free yoga to the community. You don’t even need a library card; just bring yourself and your mat for a relaxing and rejuvenating class for students of all levels. Yoga classes are available at the Bloomingdale Branch, Grand Central Branch and Muhlenberg Branch.
Lululemon Lululemon stores around the country offer free yoga classes with top instructors on a regular basis. It’s a win-win-win—you get free yoga, instructors reach a wider audience and Lululemon gets the chance to showcase the latest and greatest items. One word of caution: arrive early. The classes are extremely popular and fill up quickly.
Socrates Sculpture Park Take your practice to Socrates Sculpture Park for yoga surrounded by amazing sculptures, fresh air and incredible views of the city. Classes are free and designed for all experience levels. Bring your own mat or towel. Yoga classes are held on Saturday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 am and from 11am to 12 pm through September 24th. Instructor Monique Schubert teaches Kripalu Yoga, a system of Hatha Yoga that integrates body postures, breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation.
Attention: Free yoga in NYC!
I’m not sure whether there are any other New Yorkers out there (there sure must be!), but in case there are, I just wanted to point out the City of New York’s BeFitNYC.org summer programs.

On the NYC Parks website, you can browse through a bunch of activities, including free classes and recreational centers that are free or low-budget.
I’ll definitely be finding myself some classes soon.
Feel free to reblog/spread the word!
P. S. I also totally would love to follow more people who live in NY. Hit me up if you live in the Big Apple!
