Hi, I'm Petra and this is my weight loss/fitness blog.

I used to be on Weight Watchers from January 2011 to October 2012, dropping approximately 45 lbs. I've made the transition from unhealthy and unhappy to athlete and this is my journey to becoming a healthier, happier me. I frequently post about my exercise (mostly running, yoga and lifting), the foods I eat, recipes I liked and my daily struggles. You'll also find the occasional tree hugger post, (travel) photography or anything else I find worth remembering and collecting.

I follow most blogs back that follow me. However, I do stay away from blogs that promote EDs, unhealthy methods of weight loss or negative body image.

Feel free to say hi any time!

February goals - Revisited

I meant to post this a few days ago, but here it is now. Let’s take a look at the February goals.

  • Continue saving money by cutting back on unnecessary expenses like coffee, snacks, clothes, etc - Somewhat. I still managed to save quite a bit of money, however I bought a couple of things that I really wanted but didn’t necessarily need. it could have been worse. And better.
  • Bring lunch to work at least 4 times a week and cook dinner every night of the week (unless either is being provided) -  DONE!
  • Exercise at least 5 times a week - DONE! I exercised 6 times a week with Tuesdays usually being my rest day.
  • Run at least 3 times a week - DONE! I ran 3 times a week, except for one week, when I actually ran 5 times.
  • Try something new (either a food or really any kind of experience, never done before) - DONE! I tried spinning, I ran my fastest run ever (8:34 pace), I ran my longest run ever (13.48 miles), I prepared and hated kale, I made the perfect omelet, I went to my first ever basketball game, presented at the clients’ offices for the first time
  • Don’t step on a scale or take measurements until 2/28 - DONE! This one was hard, but it paid off.
  • Find at least good thing each day to appreciate and post about - DONE!

Looking at this makes me really proud. My month wasn’t easy, especially the beginning with my disordered eating and guilt issues, but I made it through and I reached my goals. I’m still struggling occasionally, but I am strong and I am capable of picking myself up after I fall. I got this.
