Hi, I'm Petra and this is my weight loss/fitness blog.

I used to be on Weight Watchers from January 2011 to October 2012, dropping approximately 45 lbs. I've made the transition from unhealthy and unhappy to athlete and this is my journey to becoming a healthier, happier me. I frequently post about my exercise (mostly running, yoga and lifting), the foods I eat, recipes I liked and my daily struggles. You'll also find the occasional tree hugger post, (travel) photography or anything else I find worth remembering and collecting.

I follow most blogs back that follow me. However, I do stay away from blogs that promote EDs, unhealthy methods of weight loss or negative body image.

Feel free to say hi any time!

Good things: 2/7 & 2/8

Forgot to post again yesterday, so today you receive two days worth of good things.

2/7:

  • I impressed someone pretty important at my company. One of my career goals for 2012 is working toward a promotion and making an impact with the right people is obviously an important thing to do. We had a status call and I took notes, that I then typed up and shared with everybody. It’s such a small thing to do, but having my boss thank me for it was a big win
  • I called my doctor about my test results and while yes, estrogen levels are too low, there’s one more thing we can try before forcing me to go on the pill. I’ll call the drug store and see whether my prescription is ready. So hopefully we can work through this
  • I went out for dinner and while I went over my daily points by quite a bit (and quite honestly, I overate), there was minimal guilt and thoughts of having to make up for it through exercise. Baby steps, right?

2/8:

  • My run this morning was great. I did a little over 5.5 miles (despite being tipsy when I feel into bed the night before) at an overall pace of 9:41 (not moving pace, so it includes having to stop at the traffic light). I was running and at one point the sun rose. I don’t think I’ve ever run during sunrise. The NYC skylight against a crimson sky was absolutely stunning and so worth dragging my butt out of bed!
  • My eating has been pretty good today. I have breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner planned out and I still have a couple of points left (for more protein). Yay!

Finally headed home.
