fryttu replied to your post: WIT: 2/28 (February weigh in)
Oh my!!! Congrats! Dude, sometimes I see 142 lbs on the scales, I told you you were tinier than me now!!!! I’m so glad with all you’ve done, keep going! And don’t forget that your happiness is the most important thing.
Thanks, hon! <3 I think to remember that you’re a couple of inches taller than me. What I definitely remember...

WIT: 2/28 (February weigh in)
Today was the day. After not stepping on the scale for 5 weeks, today was the day for a check in. After feeling a little anxious before the weekend, I felt really calm and in control yesterday and today. I knew that whatever the scale would say, I had given it my best. I felt great.
That said, I’m not going to lie that seeing the validation of what I felt was absolutely wonderful. This...
Thoughts for the night
I’ve had a pretty long day, so here are a few thoughts in le forme du bullet. Some of these are Good Things.
I went for a 6.5 mile run this morning and it felt really hard. Turns out I was pretty fast again. I’m liking this! I also like how the sun is rising a little earlier each day. I was out the door almost 6 AM sharp and last week, the sun didn’t rise until 6:30’ish....

Confessions
I hate kale. It’s gross.
There you go. I said it. I don’t care how good it is for you. I just don’t see (taste) the appeal. There is other green stuff that is also good for you that comes with great taste. I’ll eat that instead.
fryttu asked: Just saw the picture of the Hermitage you reblogged (btw, I love the All Things Europe tumblr) -- I'd gladly take you there it if you ever visited. :) Haven't been to the Hermitage for about 5 or 6 years myself, I've forgotten how beautiful it is inside.
allleft asked: Hello Pet! I hope you had a great time at the Met I was there too, how come i didn't see you ;) anyways great photo of you btw! have a great night AR

Good things: 2/21 - 2/26
2/22:
I had a really great run that day.
I made lots of good food choices that day. I stayed within my daily limits, yet I got to enjoy a bagel.
2/23:
My hand mixer arrived (no baking this weekend though).
I went to dinner with a bunch of people from work and again, I made really good choices. I felt satisfied about what I ate - all stress and guilt-free.
2/24:
I had a really crap day at...
Yesterday I went to the mos bizarre brunch date in my life ever. It certainly was an experience.
I went with a couple of people from work since we were taken out by two of our favorite sales reps. There are only very, very few sales reps that I’d want to spend my weekend with and these two are certainly in the top five. Last year we spent a weekend with them in the Hamptons, so we knew that...

Tales of the scales
A while ago I made a pact with myself: no scale until 2/28.
I have to admit that at first, not stepping on a scale has been hard for me - someone who is obsessed with numbers. After a few days, while the urge to weigh in still was there, it actually felt liberating and I felt like a giant weight had been taken off my shoulders. No pun intended. Now as 2/28 is coming closer and closer, I feel the...

Two of my major pet peeves are:
When people don’t have a firm grip when shaking your hand. I don’t need anybody to break my bones, but if I wanted to shake a wet cloth, I would do that instead.
When people don’t think. You have a problem and need to work with someone on it? Try and offer a solution instead of giving them a helpless-damsel-in-distress like But what are we gonna...

If I have to read one more post about all the good and bad foods that speed or slow down your metabolism and why or why not we need to eat/drink them all, I swear, I’m going to spit my green tea all over the internet.

runs-on-cupcakes replied to your photo: This is probably the reason why my morning run…
truth, you are your own competition :) I used to get really upset comparing my times to other runners’, but I stopped doing that, and enjoy running so much more now. There’s always going to be someone faster and slower than you, no matter what.
Me too! I also got really upset and angry whenever...

Tuesdays is my rest day, so technically, I shouldn’t feel bad about not working out today. I had originally planned to work out this morning because I have a dinner come up on Thursday and a brunch on Saturday, so I wanted to get a bit of a head start in earning activity points to balance out any additional calories coming my way. However, I couldn’t get out of bed this morning and I...

I have a confession to make: I’m a giant language snob.
I guess one of the great things (and privileges) of living and growing up in Europe has always been the easiness that comes with traveling. You hop on a plane in Frankfurt and it takes you an hour (or less) to fly to London, Paris, Rome, Madrid, Stockholm and hundreds of other marvelous cities. All these great places with their...

Scoop the pb out of the jar first next time, honey. lol!
Haha, but the whole idea was that it would be easier to scoop out once it’s a little softened. I didn’t mix the whole jar very well so the top used to be a little oily and now the bottom is really dry and crumbly. I might just toss out the...

Thanks for all the responses to my Long run fueling questions! I received a couple of great suggestions (here and on Twitter) and I’ll make sure to post a round up of answers tomorrow. In the meantime, if you have any other suggestions or experiences to share, I’d still love to hear about them.
I spent the afternoon working to get a head start for the upcoming week. I know it’s...

Long run fueling questions!
Took me a couple of days to figure it out, but I realized that when miles 11 & onward during my 13.5 mile run felt so ridiculously hard, guess what, I hit the wall. This never happened to me before and while I know it’s not a good practice, I never fuel during long runs. I always have water with me if I plan on running 6 miles or more, but I never carry Gu or any other type of energy...

Know what’s funny? Scrolling through your dash and seeing the same person first reblog a “Stop Judging, Start Loving” post, immediately followed by a “Skinny girls look good in clothes. Fit girls look good naked” post.
Think about that for a second.
