My Top Ten Rules for Running
runlikeagirlatx:
These are things I tell myself, they don’t apply to everyone but for me they are important…
10. Nobody goes from not running at all to running a marathon overnight. Running takes hard work and commitment. IT IS NOT going to be easy, if it was it wouldn’t be worth doing.
9. ANYBODY can be a runner. Don’t ever let anyone make you feel intimidated or less worthy of the title of...

Your Nutritionista: Get Your Labels off My Diet →
nutritionista:
I hate to be all blahblah I hate labels blahblah (because, I mean, who’s ever claimed to LOVE labels?), but I really do hate diet labels. Whether you’re talking about labels like vegetarian, or pescatarian, or labels like Atkins, or South Beach, or Paleo, etc., just… eat what you eat and LET…

Hey guys!
I just woke up and am laying in bed with my netbook. It’s so gorgeous having the sunlight filter through my windows as I write this.
As most of you guys know, I workout consistently 5-6x a week, leaning more on the 6, 95% of the time. I do this because I enjoy it, it makes me feel…
This is a great post on how it is okay to not work out every single day. My job...

NOT Seeing Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s new movie 50/50...
Turns out the organizers had emitted more tickets than seats at the theater, which meant we couldn’t get in. I was pretty bummed about it since I really wanted to see this movie. We’re seeing it when it comes out in a month, preferably with a larger group. But still, it stinks.
Ended up walking home which was my (cheated) workout. Today was supposed to be a rest day. On my way home I...

WIT: 8/30 (August goal reflection)
I weighed in this morning and lost 0.4 lbs. It’s a little less than I had hoped (déjà vu from last week?), but again, a loss is a loss. I’m now at 151.6 lbs (68.7 kg), which makes for a total weight loss of 44.1 lbs (20.1 kg). My lowest weight was the second week of August at 151.2 lbs, the week before my birthday. I started August at 152.0 lbs so overall, I’ve only...

Ask the Diet Doctor: Egg Whites vs. Whole Eggs
Q: Which is better: egg whites or eggs with yolks? Is eating whole eggs really bad for my health?
A: You can eat both, but opt for whole eggs first. Whole eggs have a long nutritional history of being good for you, then bad for you (during the low-cholesterol craze), and then good for you again. The main reason why eggs were placed in the “don’t eat” basket several decades ago...

NSV!
I step on the scale tomorrow and I’m kinda excited. It’s my last weigh in for August and I’m just hoping to have lost the remainder of my birthday gain. I have a pretty good feeling about the week because I’ve been eating mostly clean, enjoyed myself while doing so and I’ve been as active as my schedule allowed me to be. But then, the scale hardly ever seems to...

Eggplant Stuffed With Rice and Tomatoes
The filling for these irresistible stuffed eggplants is also good for peppers and squash. Substitute the chopped flesh of the summer squash for the eggplant, and just use the rice and tomatoes for peppers. Make these a day ahead for best results.
2 1/2 to3 pounds small or medium eggplants
Salt to taste

35 days Fitblr challenge - Day 01
For every min of working out you do today you get an imaginary dollar to buy a swim suit online. How many min? And what are you buying? From where? Post a picture
From here.
I went for a longish post-hurricane walk around the neighborhood (and came back with a new huge mug, a cereal bowl and two new glasses, yeah, I know) and later this evening did a mix of squats, curls, planks and crunches....
